Orochimaru VS Medusa (Naruto VS Soul Eater)
(Cue Wiz and Boomstick)
(Animated Wiz and Boomstick)
Wiz: Stealth. Deception. Wit. All of these traits can be described by any normal villain you can find, but only a select few can pull it off perfectly.
Boomstick: Of course, it can’t be done without snakes, because those bastards are scary.
Wiz: Honestly they’re one of the most fascinating animals I’ve ever experimented on. After this, I was gonna continue-
Boomstick: They are NOT fascinating! They are dangerous noodles of death! Who’d be crazy enough to use them in battle? Oh, wait…
Wiz: Orochimaru, Sannin turned Traitor of the Hidden Leaf Village
Boomstick: And Medusa, the manipulative Witch of Soul Eater. He’s Wiz and I’m Boomstick!
Wiz: And it’s our job to analyze their weapons, armor and skills to see who would win a DEATH BATTLE!
Wiz: Konohagakure is a village of many names, and is known for a good number of reasons.
Boomstick: Between the Uchiha guys that seem to ruin everyone's lives and Ninja Jesus, it’s fair to say they certainly have a reputation as the head honcho of ninja towns.
Wiz: But before Naruto, the villager’s protectors were the three Sannin.
Boomstick: Well, two of them, but more on that later. The first question is: What exactly is a Sannin?
Wiz: Well during the Second Great Ninja War, three shinobi from Konoha fought against a Ninja named Hanzo of the Salamander, who bestowed them that title due to surviving their battle with him. They’re mainly known for summoning massive beasts to their aid, which usually helps them win a life threatening battle, but even without them, they were extremely skilled shinobi that few could compare to, let alone surpass.
Boomstick: Then after a little time, they went their separate ways. Jiraiya, the Toad Sage, went on to train Naruto, setting him on the path of greatness, as is the case with most anime protagonists.
Wiz: Tsunade found herself in a town known as Tanzaku. Eventually becoming the 5th Hokage.
Boomstick: But the last one didn’t really do the whole goody two shoes stuff. Instead, he would form a village known as the Hidden Sound, and eventually become one of the biggest threats the Hidden Leaf Village has ever known. The Snake Sage himself: Orochimaru.
Wiz: Orochimaru began as a young orphan-
Boomstick: Obviously.
Wiz: -and was adopted by Hiruzen Sarutobi. There, he would train alongside Jiraiya and Tsunade for the rest of his childhood.
Boomstick: But this ninja Voldemort didn’t really see eye to eye with his fellow classmates. He was kinda insane, and not even the funny foaming out the mouth kind.
Wiz: While his demented and twisted nature was alarming, no one was ready for the plans he had in mind. Whether it was his way of coping, or a fascination gone too far, Orochimaru sought immortality and all knowledge of ninja arts that ever existed. But in order to accomplish such a thing, he’d have to resort to… disturbing measures.
Boomstick: Yeah, he’d have to bounce from body to body to make that immortality thing come true. Kinda like Freaky Friday except he just kills the people he switches bodies with.
Wiz: But Orochimaru went beyond just that. Before deserting Konoha, he experimented on prisoners and fellow shinobi to test what modifications the human body can endure and harness a subject's unique abilities for himself and still continued to do so after abandoning the village. These experimentations allowed Orochimaru to develop new techniques to aid him in his quest for immortality, not caring how many dead bodies were produced.
Boomstick: Sounds like someone I know. Isn’t that right, Wiz?
Wiz: Oh please. My experiments never killed anyone… recently.
Boomstick: Uh huh… Well like many people, Orochimaru possesses the life energy known as chakra.
Wiz: Chakra is a form of spiritual energy within every individual in the world of Naruto. Every shinobi is capable of molding and weaponizing chakra for various purposes.
Boomstick: With chakra, good ole Orochi here can perform numerous ninja magic techniques like creating multiple copies of himself, hide underground for a sneak attack, and burp out powerful gusts of wind.
Wiz: Not only is Orochimaru capable of performing all the five basic chakra elements of fire, wind, earth, water, and lightning, but he’s even able to perform Yin and Yang release. Yin release allows the user to use chakra to create form out of nothingness while Yang release allows the user to use chakra to grant life to forms that have none. And after taking over the body of a White Zetsu clone, Orochimaru gained access to Wood release, which is a combination of earth and water to create and control wood.
Boomstick: And we’re only just scratching the surface of his abilities. He’s skilled in fuinjutsu, which is basically ninja magic that uses sealing techniques. Orochimaru can seal spirits or large enemies into objects or human bodies with the Four Symbols Seal, mess with other seals using the Five Elements Seal, and trap his enemies in a different dimensional spacing by setting up a Fuinjutsu Trap.
Wiz: The most dangerous of Orochimaru’s fuinjutsu techniques are his Curse Marks, a type of Juinjutsu that the Snake Sannin can give to his underlings and followers. These Curse Marks provide them an extra boost in power and chakra levels as well as new transformations in their second stage.
(Animated Wiz and Boomstick)
Boomstick: Wait, these marks can give you more power and the ability to transform? That’s awesome! Where can I get one of my own?
Wiz: Uh…. I should warn you that Orochimaru’s Curse Marks have a 10% survival rate, and Orochimaru usually brands them on people by biting their neck.
Boomstick: I take it back! I take it back! I don’t want some creepy snake guy giving me a hickey.
Wiz: You’re probably too old anyway. Anko and Sasuke were 12 when Orochimaru bit them while Kimimaro and the Sound Four were 15 and 14 when they first appeared with their Curse Marks. That’s kinda concerning in hindsight… like really, REALLY concerning.
(FBI Open up meme plays on the TV screen)
Boomstick: Seriously. Don’t let this man be near any of your children, folks.
Wiz: In truth though, these Curse Marks serve different purposes for Orochimaru. They carry a fraction of his consciousness within them, making it hard for the Snake Sannin to ever truly die. Or in Sasuke’s case, he uses these Curse Marks to groom other people so he can have their bodies.
Boomstick: I don’t think there’s any denying it at this point: he’s DEFINITELY on that list.
Wiz: I meant taking over their bodies as a new host, but probably.
Boomstick: Well aside from giving hickies to underage teenagers, Orochimaru went another step further in his quest for immortality by modifying his own body to give himself all these weird snake-like techniques since that’s his whole motif. With these body modifications, Orochimaru can heal and regenerate from damage for short periods of time. This includes reconnecting his body using snakes after getting cut in half, manipulating his body to become super stretchy, enhancing his physical durability to take hits from powerhouse and former teammate Tsunade, and “shedding his skin” by regurgitating a brand new body with no previous injury…. Ew.
Wiz: These modified abilities, more specifically the immense regenerative ones, are known as the Power of the White Snake. Along with granting Orochimaru incredible healing abilities, the Power of the White Snake also allows the Sannin to turn into his true form: a giant serpentine monster composed of many smaller snakes. In fact, Orochimaru’s true form is so deadly, his blood is poisonous enough to evaporate into the air and paralyze anyone who inhales it. Even characters supposedly immune to getting poisoned like Sasuke fall victim to it.
Boomstick: I know I said he was insane earlier, but now that’s just an understatement. Just how obsessed is he with snakes?
Wiz: Very much obsessed. But with this form comes Orochimaru’s main method of obtaining immortality, the Living Corpse Reincarnation. With this technique, Orochimaru transfers his soul into the bodies of his victims and takes them over by swallowing them whole and absorbing their consciousness. Afterwards, he gains control over his new body.
Boomstick: Unfortunately for that creep, he can’t enjoy his new body forever. He has to use that technique every three years before his current body rejects him and rots away. Though I have to ask. If he had actually managed to take over Sasuke’s body, what was he gonna do next after those three years were up?
Wiz: Probably find another unlucky teenager to corrupt and take control over.
Boomstick: But if Orochimaru doesn’t want to waste his chakra pool, he can always up close and personal or from afar with his assortment of weapons and gear. Like many shinobi, he carries a supply of shurikens and kunai. He even carries a case of genjutsu pills which cast illusions on whoever consumes them. Probably needs them to drug children before kidnapping them.
Wiz: Orochimaru’s most notable weapon, however, is the Sword of Kusanagi. Inspired by the Japanese legend of the same name, the Sword of Kusanagi can extend and retract its blade from a long distance and is capable of cutting through almost anything, And if he ever finds himself disarmed, Orochimaru can simply control the Sword of Kusanagi telekinetically. Enma, a monkey summon who can transform into an adamantine staff that’s allegedly as hard as diamonds, stated that fighting the Sword of Kusanagi would be “sore”, which implies that the sword is capable of cutting through diamonds.
Boomstick: And like always, Orochimaru tries to be disgusting by vomiting his sword either from a snake or from himself. Guess he thinks he’s too cool for pockets. If weapons don’t work though, Orochimaru can just call upon his scaly friends for help usually with the Summoning Jutsu or through ninja magic. He can summon multiple snakes within his sleeves, create clones made from snakes, and- oh come on, seriously?! Vomiting out snakes?! Seriously, what’s up with this guy and vomiting out stuff a normal person shouldn’t vomit out?
Wiz: Getting back on track, Orochimaru can also trap enemies within a snake’s mouth and transfer his consciousness into a white snake to slither inside someone’s body, allowing him to take control over them and their mind. However, Orochimaru’s strongest summon is Manda, a colossal snake who tends to have a hostile relationship with his summoner. While Manda can’t beat Orochimaru in a fight, he usually demands human sacrifices as compensation for his services due to his snobbish personality and pride.
Boomstick: If Orochimaru wants to go on the defensive, he can summon one or three colossal gates called the Rashomon. Hell, these things are strong enough to withstand a Tailed Beast Bomb, which can destroy a mountain. But if snakes and giant walls don’t meet his expectations, Orochimaru can SUMMON ZOMBIES to fight on his side. Like, what’s even better than giant snakes and gates? An army of zombies, that’s what!
Wiz: This is known as the Impure World Reanimation summoning technique, or the Reanimation Jutsu for short. A summoner can bind the soul of a deceased person to a living vessel, restoring the “zombie” as they were when they were alive in order to do the summoner’s building. While the undead fighter maintains all of the abilities they had in their previous life as well as a broken healing factor, the jutsu requires a human sacrifice to serve as the vessel and the DNA of the deceased person for them to be summoned. In other words, this jutsu requires prep time.
Boomstick: For a guy with a disgusting fetish for vomiting and a creepy fixation on teenagers, Orochimaru is pretty resourceful. However, we have yet to cover his final trump card. HE CAN TURN INTO A GIANT EIGHT-HEADED SNAKE KAIJU!!!
Wiz: After years of human experimentation and using the Living Corpse Reincarnation technique multiple times, Orochumaru uses the white snake’s “power of reincarnation” to transform into a giant white serpent with eight heads and eight tails based off the legendary snake from Japanese folklore, Yamata no Orochi. Being way larger than Manda, this form transcends Orochimaru from “snake” to “Dragon God.”
Boomstick: Too bad we didn’t get to see the full extent of Orochimaru’s trump card thanks to Itachi, but we do know it’s his greatest and most powerful jutsu. With all these tricks up his sleeve, it’s no wonder he’s one of the deadliest villains in shinobi history.
Wiz: Orochimaru has shown to be consistently on par with his former teammates Tsunade and Jiraiya, with the latter being capable of blowing up mountains that we’ve mentioned before to have resulted in 18.4 megatons of TNT.
Boomstick: He’s even been shown to be on par with Kakashi, who reacted to lightning at over 2,000 times the speed of sound! He can even fight evenly with Naruto, who made this enormous crater! Of course, this amount of speed and power is what allowed Orochimaru to kill multiple Kage, who are basically ninja presidents and are notable to be the strongest shinobi of their villages.
Wiz: One of these Kage was Orochimaru’s former teacher Hiruzen Sarutobi, the Third Hokage. According to one of the official Naruto databooks, two were stated to be equally matched during their fight in the Konoha Crush Arc. And before that fight, Orochimaru killed the Fourth Kazekage Rasa, who’s strong enough to restrain the Tailed Beast Shukaku.
Boomstick: Speaking of Tailed Beasts, Orochimaru had fought Naruto when the blonde was in one of his Tailed Beast forms. At the four-tailed Version 2 form specifically, Naruto was already capable of creating one of those Tailed Beast Bombs. It’s thanks to his unhealthy obsession with immortality that made this creepy son of a bitch difficult to kill.
Wiz: Orochimaru took a powerful fire-style jutsu to the face from Sasuke, tanked hits from Naruto in his jinchuriki forms, survived the Reaper Death Seal being used on him twice, and survived punches from Tsunade. It should be noted that Orochimaru himself stated that a punch from her results in death, and this is further supported by the fact that Tsunade nearly killed Jiraiya with a single punch when they were younger.
Boomstick: This guy is the embodiment of “too op, please nerf”, which is actually how he originally died. When trying to take Sasuke’s body, Orochimaru’s body was in a weak state thanks to his fight with the Third Hokage three years prior. This allowed the Uchiha to reverse the Living Corpse Reincarnation technique on him. Hell, Sasuke even stated that the only reason he defeated Orochimaru was because of the weak condition his body was in, which needed rank 10 medicine to stay alive.
Wiz: This was ultimately caused by Orochimaru's greatest weakness: his arrogance. Due to his lifelong pursuance of immortality, the Snake Sannin developed a god complex and believed himself to be actually immortal. This led to him making reckless attacks against his opponents, resulting in disastrous consequences for him such as losing the use of his arms and getting sealed away.
Boomstick: Also, he’s surprisingly afraid of bugs and insects for some reason.
Wiz: But even death was only temporary for Orochimaru. He was brought back to life by Sasuke and helped participate in the Fourth Shinobi World War against Madara and Obito. Afterwards, the Snake Sannin was free to continue his genetic experiments and move freely in and out of Konoha. He even has two sons, Log and Mitsuki. Though both are also technically the same person.
Boomstick: Hold up a bit! You mean to tell me that those Leaf shinobi are allowing the man who killed one of their important leaders and tried to destroy their village to roam free?! Why?!
Wiz: I mean, he did help in the war. Besides, it’s not like Konoha completely trusts him. He’s constantly monitored by various Leaf shinobi in case he goes back to his evil ways.
Boomstick: That still doesn’t make it better.
Wiz: Feared for his creepy and sadistic tendencies, Orochimaru is one ninja you should always pray to never to come across.
(Orochimaru: I want to obtain all the techniques and gain a true understanding of everything in this world. The first to mix blue and yellow to call the new color “green”. I want to do something similar to that. If blue is the chakra, then yellow is the seal, and green is the technique…. Just as there is no end to the variety of colors, there are so many thousands… tens of thousands of techniques in the world as well. But in order to obtain every possible technique and truth, it would require an eternity. Only one who understands everything after spending such time on this can be fittingly called the Ultimate Being.)
Wiz: The Death Weapon Meister Academy (Also known as D.W.M.A) is an educational facility that trains young minds in the way of weaponized combat.
Boomstick: THAT SOUNDS AMAZING! I’m enrolling my daughter right f*cking now.
Wiz: I’d hold off on that. Anyway, the reason it exists at all is to help combat the criminals of the world, which is a pretty stupid idea to have kids take them down.
Boomstick: Wiz, it’s anime. Kids do all the heavy lifting and dying anyway, just make them useful for once. Anyway, the thing about D.W.M.A is that a lot of people can like… turn into weapons and stuff. While it’s like the best thing ever, it also doesn’t make sense.
Wiz: This applies to the villains of Soul Eater as well. While the common criminals are mere thieves or an occasional serial killer, the main threat lies within the Witches, which all coexist in their own faction. While many work in harmony to get rid of Weapon Meisters, one would go above and beyond to stand out and make a name for themselves.
Boomstick: Medusa was pretty well known already for being a capital bitch. She was one of the three Gorgon Sisters, a family that was pretty well known for being trouble for Death himself. Who, in this world, is the principal of a school.
Wiz: The Gorgon sisters all share the same wit and cunning, but they also have a deep hatred for one another, since they have betrayed each other for the sake of survival time and time again.
Boomstick: But Medusa was above and beyond the simple cheating death thing. Instead she had something WAY worse in mind. She was going to resurrect the one guy Death could not kill. And she had the right tools to do so.
Wiz: Medusa’s Witch Magic is often used in small portions, often in the form of sneak attacks or surveillance.
Boomstick: One small soul snake is all she needs to know someone's exact whereabouts, and no one can really notice it unless their soul wavelength is specifically designed to find shit like that, like D.W.M.A’s human lie detector, B.J.
Wiz: You see, souls in Soul Eater are more than just a person’s spirit. They are all unique in their own way and can be used spiritually to amplify abilities and attacks, often achieving a Resonance state with their respective weapons. However, witches seem to have their own powers and fight on par with experienced Weapon Meisters without a weapon at all. Instead they rely on magic, which can be used for numerous things.
Boomstick: Other than offensive magic, all witches have something called Soul Protect. No, it doesn’t make a soul intangible like I thought it did.
Wiz: Soul Protect is actually a stealth tactic witches use to disguise their presence. Under normal circumstances, a Meister would have no issue finding a witch, but Soul Protect is advanced enough to make them practically invisible from a person’s senses. It also helps that they can fly around as they please with their broomsticks.
Boomstick: No wonder Death made a school to specifically hunt them down! No one can catch these women. And they’d probably have an even harder time with Medusa’s madness all over the place. Her main battle style is called the Vector Arrow, which places (what else) arrows anywhere she wants. Anyone touching them will get launched wherever it points to, and can set up into the world's most violent conveyor belt.
Wiz: These arrows can also be used for a more direct approach as edged weapons that can spawn from any point in her body, but she mainly uses one as a tail for sneak attacks. They’re fast enough to keep up with Weapon Meister Franken Stien.
Boomstick: She’s also experienced in some good ol’ fashioned hand to hand combat, and her arrows make it impossible for anyone to close in on her, while simultaneously making it a cakewalk for her to land a nice punch to the face.
Wiz: While her offensive arrow magic is a giant threat on its own, where she really shines is what her powers can do off the battlefield. Instead of directly killing anyone she wants, she targets the more mentally unstable people to do it for her. She does so by amplifying Madness.
Boomstick: Madness is basically what you think it is: Crazy Juice! The more mentally unstable someone is, the more likely they’ll go nuts. Pretty obvious, right? Well Medusa has the power to reduce someone’s mental state with her snake magic. In fact, this is how she was able to get the better of Stien after he cut her in half. That’s uhhhh… pretty f*cked up there, snake lady.
Wiz: Turns out, Medusa is far more clever than anyone expected, much to the dismay of D.W.M.A. You see, when Stein dealt what normally would’ve been a fatal blow, everyone was distracted by the awakening of Asura, the first Kinshin, which was Medusa’s plan all along. This timing would end up saving her life.
Boomstick: A Kinshin is a guy that kills people for fun and eats their souls for evil power. Asura was so good at this that Death TORE HIS SKIN OFF, KILLED HIM AND PUT HIS BODY IN A BAG MADE OF SAID SKIN! So goddamn metal!
Wiz: As soon as he was revived, all Stein and Medusa could do was laugh. Medusa won, and the world would be sent into chaos.
Boomstick: However she was too busy celebrating her victory to notice that Stein kinda cut her ass in half. Normally someone would’ve said “Well shit, I’m dead.” But Medusa wasn’t one to give up that easily and decided to herself “Welp, time for plan B.” Gotta admire that willpower.
Wiz: Medusa was able to put her entire soul into a singular tiny snake as it escaped with her life. She survived, possessed a young child, and continued to manipulate from the sidelines.
Boomstick: But Medusa usually isn’t alone. She was able to get some other witches and an immortal criminal to do her dirty work for her. Although, since literally everyone hates her, you’re probably wondering how she did it.
Wiz: Well, during conversation with Witches Eruka and Mizune, Medusa was able to insert her magic into their bodies.
Boomstick: Bow chicka bow wow!
Wiz: NOT LIKE THAT! Anyway, in a mere instant, she was able to make Mzune explode from the inside out. In the way she put it, all she needs is direct contact with a person to turn them into a living bomb. In the few seconds she touched them, thousands of tiny snakes entered their bodies, with only a few needing to exist in someone to activate their devastating effects.
Boomstick: Meaning if Medusa gets in close, you only have two real options: Be her bitch or go kablooey! It was with this 100% foolproof friendship making strategy that she was able to revive Asura to begin with.
Wiz: Asura’s madness was actually just another piece in her plans. It seems she herself is highly resistant to the effects he plays on people's minds. Most likely because she was already insane.
Boomstick: Crazy enough to later get in some sister on sister action… in the form of body snatching! As you can probably tell by now, she’s not a really good family member to have. And you know what the worst part is? Someone was crazy enough to knock her up and give her a kid!
Wiz: That poor child would be known as Crona, and her parenting skills are about as well as you’d expect. She trained Crona to kill anything and everything, and just to add insult to injury, she experimented on her own son!
Boomstick: She injected Black Blood into Crona, forming a buff, insane, abusive thing called Ragnarok to exist alongside them for the rest of their days!
Wiz: The reason she did all this was to create a perfect Kinshin, most likely to control Crona like a puppet.
(Animated Wiz and Boomstick)
Boomstick: I think we get it, Wiz. She’s a bad parent... or is she a good bad parent?
Do villains have like a chart of evil parenting or something?
Wiz: I don’t think that really matters right now. Anyway, Medusa has one final trump card if everything else isn’t enough.
Boomstick: A form so scary that we need to warn you ahead of time. If you value your life you will run away screaming right now.
Wiz: Boomstick, it’s not that bad! Seriously it’s just a form that fuses her with an embodiment of madness that drastically improves her abilities and soul amplifications-
Boomstick: It’s not that, Wiz! Look at her, that’s badass! It’s how she gets this form that’s so disturbing that no one will be able to sleep ever again.
Wiz: You mean the clo-
Boomstick: YES, THE CLOWN!
(Wiz starts to laugh)
Boomstick: Wiz, have I ever told you about Stinky the Dancing Clown? It was my 6th birthday when that demon came into my life. Ever since I have made it my mission ever since to kill every clown I can find, so that no one has to go through what I did.
Wiz: Well, how’s that going so far?
Boomstick: Well I’ve taken care of most of the clowns on my list, there’s one big one I’m missing though.
Wiz: Oh really? Who?
Boomstick: You.
(Wiz stares at Boomstick in annoyance as Boomstick grows a wide grin from his long, elaborate joke)
Wiz: Let’s please get back on topic. As a witch and one of the Gorgon sisters, Medusa has displayed multiple feats of power as one of the major villains in Soul Eater. She’s shown to be a skilled fighter in her own right as she’s able to fight the likes of Professor Franken Stein and former Death Scythe Justin Law.
Boomstick: For someone who’s horrible at being a parent, she’s surprisingly good at staying alive. She was able to fight these guys to a stalemate on separate occasions. In fact, she almost drove Professor Frankenstein insane and tanked attacks from him that directly targeted her soul.
Wiz: While she may not be able to scale to Crona at the end of the series, we do know she was superior to Crona for a good chunk of his story. That being said, let’s take a look at the monster ship Nidhoog, who was able to bite off an entire seashore.
Boomstick: Holy shit! Crona can dish some pain out!
Wiz: By taking a look at the radius and the diameter of the crater, as well as measuring the size of the nearby window, we can tell the crater is about 19 meters deep. Knowing this, the ship’s bite had a power of 234 tons!
Boomstick: A boat can bite with the power of a nuclear warhead? HOW THE HELL?
Wiz: But even with everything Medusa has done, there’s one thing she can never change: she is above all else, a coward. Doing whatever it takes to survive or get her job done.
Boomstick: Even when Crona finally took her out, turns out THAT WAS ALSO PART OF HER PLAN! SOMEHOW!
Wiz: Upon dying, she finally treated Crona like a real child, which ultimately made Crona that much closer to being the Kinshin she wanted all along.
Boomstick: Medusa may be a bitch, but she’s definitely a badass one. No other witch could ever outdo the snake charming Gorgon sister.
(Medusa: Fear is a driving force and a creator of order. Because of this, the amount of fear that exists in the world far exceeds the amount of actual danger that is present. At all times, there is an excess of fear flowing from every human being.)
Wiz: Alright the combatants are set, and we ran the data through all possibilities!
Boomstick: But first, protect your body from snakes and hackers, with Express VPM!

IT’S TIME FOR A DEATH BATTLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2D sprite animation
Music: Serpentine by Brandon Yates
Under the city streets lies a catacomb, abandoned by the public. Only the rats and snakes could ever call this forgotten graveyard home. Medusa walks across the open area, staying hidden from DMWA and their students. However, one person seems to know her location. A tall, slender man calls to her from the shadows. His cold voice startles Medusa for a second as it echoes through the chambers.
Orochimaru: That body… it doesn’t belong to you.
Medusa turns towards the mysterious man, smiling.
Medusa: Oh? And what gave that away?
Orochimaru smirks, looking like he’s about to laugh.
Orochimaru: Allow me rephrase myself. That body… belongs to ME.
Medusa: Aw, not even a first date? Naughty boy.
Orochimaru slams his hand on the ground, summoning a wave of snakes to charge at Medusa. In the nick of time, she creates a vector arrow under herself pointing the opposite direction of the snakes, avoiding all of them. Orochimaru jumps towards her as the snakes disperse across the area, crawling into holes and cracks in the broken down walls of the catacombs. The Snake Sage runs towards the Witch, throwing three kunai as he charges. Medusa jumps onto a wall as the kunais graze her arm. She adds an arrow against her, throwing her off the wall at frightening speeds. Orochimaru turns to face her, but is met with a fist to the face, knocking him down. His body begins to slighter across the ground before getting up as Medusa goes for another blow. As she goes to punch, Ocochimaru’s neck begins to stretch and quickly wraps around her fist. She tries to jump back, but snakes summoned earlier wrap around her legs, holding her down.
Orochimaru: Your skin is soft. So tender.
Medusa: Not for long.
Medusa’s face grows a wicked grin as arrows come out of her body in the form of Vector Storm. Orochimaru jumps out before any damage could be dealt. He then proceeds to throw a shuriken that bounce off the walls, and uses lightning fast hand signs.
Orochimaru: Shuriken Shadow Clone Jutsu!
The shuriken multiply, surrounding Medusa and her arrows. She’s forced to deflect them with her arrows as fast as possible, knocking them into walls and on the ground. Several snakes get impaled and one is sliced in half from getting too close. Soon, all the shurikens land on the ground or disappear, with Orochimaru awestruck by her precision. Medusa then runs in towards Orochimaru, punching him in the gut, followed by a flip kick supported by her Vector tail, finishing with a knee to the chest. Orochimaru stumbles back and gets down on one knee, trying to catch his breath.
Medusa: You’re no witch, but your soul isn’t pure in the slightest.
Orochimaru coughs up a small bit of blood and grins.
Orochimaru: So, you can see my soul, I take it? Such an interesting specimen you are.
He extends his right arm and vomits out the sword of Kusanagi, flying into his hand. Medusa tries to disarm it, but gets caught off guard by Orochimaru’s blinding speed and gets cut in her arms, leaving a visible slash wound on both. She then has arrows fly out of said wounds, forcing the Sannin to run around her in evasion. Suddenly, a snake clone forms behind her and kicks her into the air. Before it can follow up for another blow, the real Orochimaru jumps off of its back. Medusa’s Vector Arrows start to circle around her, eventually forming a sword. She firmly grasps it in time to block another slice from Orochimaru. Both land, holding their swords ever tighter. They lunge towards each other, looking for openings while simultaneously clashing blades, hoping to knock the other off balance. Medusa fires three small arrows at Orochimaru’s feet, forcing him to jump out of the way. This left him open to a slash to one of his legs. Fortunately for him, he moved it out of the way enough to make sure it wasn’t cut off completely. He then runs back for an overhead swing. Medusa blocks the slice with her sword, but slowly gets cracked. Eventually the Vector Sword gets shattered, returning the arrows back to their normal state. The Sword of Kusanagi lands in Medusa’ shoulder as Orochimaru laughs in twisted delight. But the laugh is short lived as two big arrows come from Medusa’s hips and bind his lower body. She crushes the sword with her bare hand and throws him into a wall, crumbling from the impact. Due to the wall giving way, the structure above Orochimaru, cracks, causing a pile of debris to land on him. Medusa chuckles and walks off. The camera pans back towards the rubble, with small streams of blood coming from the center. Suddenly, the rocks begin to shake.
Orochimaru: SUMMONING JUTSU!
The city above the catacombs is enjoying another peaceful night, with a crescent shining down. Suddenly, it violently shakes. A couple screams can be heard before the ground explodes, with Manda being revealed once the dust settles. Orochimaru stands on top of the snake, tongue sticking out. Medusa is able to weave through the giant chunks of building and debris on her broomstick as she flies towards the top of Manda’s head. However, the giant snake’s tail smacks her out of the air, sending the witch and her broomstick crashing through another building before landing on another street. Manda wastes no time as he quickly slithers at the downed witch with his jaw slowly opening. Medusa’s eyes widen as she suddenly sees the giant snake about to eat her. The witch grabs her broomstick and flies out of the way, narrowly escaping Manda’s jaws snapping shut on her. A hint of annoyance appears on Orochimaru’s face before getting replaced by a sinister smirk.
Orochimaru: Running away, my dear? A shame. We were having so much fun.
Medusa responds with a smirk of her own.
Medusa: Who says the fun has to stop? I just need to keep your friend there a bit occupied. How about a nice playdate for him?
Medusa’s tattoos suddenly give off a purplish black glow as they transform into four emerging large snakes. With a simple command from the witch, the four snakes attack Orochimaru’s summon. While Medusa’s snakes aren’t as big as Manda, they’re more than enough to keep his attention off the witch. With Manda occupied, Medusa sets her sights on Orochimaru as she immediately flies towards him. Spreading her arms, the witch unleashes another swarm of Vector Arrows upon her opponent. In response, the Sannin whips out a kunai and uses it to deflect the incoming arrows while running towards the witch at the same time. Just as the two got into a close range, Orochimaru throws his kunai, forcing the witch to dodge out of the way. However, this is exactly what Orochimaru wanted as in a split second, his tongue shoots out of his mouth at an inhuman length. His tongue coils around Medusa’s neck like a lasso before constricting it with a tight grip. The witch gasps for air as Orochimaru leaps off Manda and uses his tongue to throw Medusa downward, slamming her into the concrete road and creating dust from the impact. Orochimaru reels his tongue back as he lands on the ground a couple of feet away. Before the dust could get a chance to settle, a large glowing arrow appears where Medusa has crashed, and the witch is launched at the Sannin with her Vector Blade in hand. Orochimaru is barely able to block the incoming strike in time with his right hand, which is now coated with chakra in the shape of a small, sharp blade. However, Medusa uses her magic to create a Vector Plate underneath Orochimaru, launching the Sannin backwards. The witch hops onto the plate, launching herself at the shinobi. Due to being caught off guard, Orochimaru couldn’t react in time as Medusa kicks him into a wall and impales his body with her Vector Blade. The witch grins at her seemingly helpless opponent.
Medusa: Too bad this had to end. I was really enjoying myself. You definitely know how to pleasure a woman.
Orochimaru chuckles at her words, coughing some blood in between. A twisted grin forms on his face.
Orochimaru: Oh no, my dear. I’m just getting started.
The Sannin opens his mouth, and another Orochimaru emerges from the body. The Sannin extends his neck as his head goes for her neck with his mouth wide open and fangs revealed. Despite being surprised by the past couple of seconds, Medusa raises her sword which causes the shinobi to bite the weapon instead. However, Orochimaru aims his left arm at the witch and shoots multiple snakes at her from within his sleeve. Forced to release her weapon, Medusa jumps back to avoid the serpents, but one was quick enough to bite her neck. The witch cries out in pain after getting bitten, collapsing as a result. Meanwhile, Orochimaru climbs out of his previous body as his new one doesn’t possess any of the injuries from before.
Orochimaru: Feel the pain? That’s the poison coursing through your veins. I just so happen to know the cure, and that’s by giving me your body. My regenerative properties will save it from the poison.
Medusa glares at the Sannin, growling at the situation she’s now been placed in. However, she lets out a laugh of her own. Orochimaru frowns at the witch, wondering if she has gone insane.
Medusa: Wonderful! Truly wonderful! With this piece of news, maybe I should take your body instead! But first, I’ll have to take things a little bit more seriously.
Medusa pulls out a foreign object that slightly resembles a clown and throws it at one of her snakes. The snake catches the entity and absorbs it into its body. To the surprise of both Manda and even Orochimaru, Medusa’s four snakes start to grow more jagged and feral. At the witch’s command, the four changed snakes attack Manda once more. Orochimaru’s summon tries to fight back, but the four snakes proved to be too much with their new power. As Manda wrestles his way out of the snakes’ grip, Medusa summons a vector plate beneath her and launches herself at the large summon. With a sadistic grin, she jams her hand into the reptile’s mouth. Manda suddenly felt something being inserted inside him. Something unnatural and numerous. Suddenly, the giant snake’s body begins to twist and contort in pain. Manda hisses and roars, feeling the pain caused by the foreign entity inside him. Medusa raises her hand and snaps her fingers. Within a second, Manda’s body explodes from the inside out. Thousands of snakes slither out from his remains. With the giant snake now gone, the four snakes set their sights on a new target: Orochimaru. Annoyed once more, the Sannin creates three clones of himself to combat them. The four Orochimaru use various techniques to fight Medusa’s snakes. One uses Wind Release: Great Breakthrough, another uses the Chakra Scalpel, a third uses the Binding Snake Glare Spell, and the last Orochimaru summons a Rashomon to stop a snake. However, Medusa’s snakes are too intense for them to control as the three clones are destroyed and the real Orochimaru is knocked onto the ground. Before the Sannin can get another chance to fight, a mass of vector arrows swarm Orochimaru from all around and traps him inside a large ball. Medusa is shown to be controlling the ball, but she’s panting heavily due to the poison.
Medusa: I must admit. You were very impressive tonight. I never fought anyone quite like you. However, this is where we must part ways. I work with snakes, so I’ll be able to create an antidote for your poison in no time. Farewell.
Medusa closes her hand into a fist, manipulating the ball to shrink and compress Orochimaru. However, the ball suddenly struggles to continue shrinking much to the witch’s confusion. To her surprise, the ball starts to shake and cracks begin to form. All of a sudden, the ball shatters. Instead of Orochimaru, a giant monster appears where the Sannin used to be in the form of a giant white serpent with eight heads and eight tails. Medusa is awestruck, wondering if the man she had just fought transformed into this monster. Medusa’s four snakes immediately attack the new monster, but it’s shown to be even larger than Manda. Despite their best efforts, the four snakes are easily destroyed by the eight-headed serpent. The monster turns its heads at Medusa, hissing at the witch before slithering its way to attack her. Coughing blood from the poison, Medusa hops onto her broomstick and flies off before one of the heads could snap its jaws at her. However, the monster didn’t stop as it began to chase after her. Due to the serpent’s immense size, buildings are smashed and people are crushed throughout the chase. Medusa knows that at this point, their fight has alerted the attention of Meisters. No doubt some of them are making their way to the combatants’ location. However, a thought came in the witch’s mind. She could have the Meisters fight the monster, allowing for her to escape. She just needs an opportunity to leave the monster’s sight.
Medusa: Nake Snake Cobra Cobra. Nake Snake Cobra Cobra. Vector Arrow Times Three!
A swarm of Vector Arrows, three times the amount of the previous set, are launched at the eight-headed serpent and the two entities clash. Despite the arrows piercing its body, the monster manages to power through the attack. Medusa tries her best to attack the creature from every angle, but the serpent wouldn’t waver. Suddenly, the witch feels her head become dizzy and develops heavier breathing. The poison has taken its toll on her body, causing the witch to fall off her broomstick and hit the ground with a harsh thud. The giant serpent lowers one of its heads and opens its jaws. Emerging from it is another large snake, though it’s smaller in size compared to the eight-headed serpent. Medusa stares at the snake as she struggles to stand back up. She notices that the new snake is made up of smaller white snakes and its face resembles Orochimaru’s.
Medusa: My, my. I don’t know whether to call you hideous or handsome. Is this who you truly are?
Orochimaru: Yes. This is indeed my true form. Be grateful, as it’s a very rare sight to see. Still putting up a fight? There’s no point in continuing, my dear. Your body is mine.
Medusa: As if I’ll let you. Vector Plate!
An arrow appears underneath Medusa and launches her towards Orochimaru. The witch chants a spell, and another arrow appears on her right arm and fist. The Sannin attacks the incoming witch, but Medusa is able to land a devastating punch on the shinobi’s jaw that sends him flying back. Even with the poison in her, the witch isn’t planning on stopping with just one attack. Summoning more Vector Plates on the ground, she travels past the snake and lands another powerful blow that sends him to another direction. Bleeding snakes fall off the Sannin’s body. Orochimaru couldn’t get a chance to retaliate as Medusa once again appears beside him and punches him right again on his jaw. The hit is strong enough to draw more blood, which splatters on the witch’s hand and clothes. However, she didn’t notice the blood beginning to evaporate. Summoning another Vector Plate, she launches herself once more to give Orochimaru another big punch. This time, the Sanin is sent crashing into a brick wall with a few snakes falling off his body. More blood fell on the ground before evaporating. With another Vector Blade summoned in her hand, Medusa walks towards her seemingly fallen opponent as her breathing becomes much heavier. Raising her sword, the witch is ready to deliver the killing blow. However, she couldn’t do it. Not because she didn’t want to but because she can’t move her body. She can’t feel it. Medusa finds herself shocked before erupting into a series of coughs and wheezes. The witch collapses onto the ground, dropping her sword in the process. She watches as Orochimaru’s body rises up and sees the Sannin staring hungrily at her.
Medusa: What… did you… do to me?
Orochimaru: It’s not what I did, but something that you technically did. You see, the blood of my true form is poisonous and has the ability to evaporate into the air and paralyze anyone who inhales it. In other words, you’re now my prey with nowhere to run.
Medusa watches in horror as she is swallowed by Orochimaru. The witch now finds herself in another plane of existence where she sees the souls of Orochimaru’s previous hosts covered in pink flesh. Suddenly, the pink flesh starts to cling onto her body. Medusa tries to pull away, but the flesh wouldn’t let go. More flesh starts to cover her body as the witch desperately tries to escape but with no luck. Appearing before her is Orochimaru, but the witch can only see part of his face since he is also covered in the same flesh.
Medusa: Where am I?! What are you doing to me?!
Orochimaru: We’re in my universe where the ritual is now taking place. Soon, your body will become mine. Be excited, my dear, as not many get to enjoy this experience.
More flesh clamp onto Medusa despite the witch doing her best to resist. Suddenly, four snakes made out of the same flesh emerge at Orochimaru’s side. They stare at Medusa with their jaws wide open. The witch’s eyes widen in both fear and frustration.
Medusa: No! I am Medusa Gorgon, the last of the Gorgon Sisters and a woman of science! I am a witch who lived over 800 years! I will not die like this!
Orochimaru: 800 years, you say? Maybe I don’t need to keep switching bodies after taking yours.
The four flesh snakes attack Medusa all at once. The witch couldn’t do anything but give one last scream of defiance.
Medusa: NOOOOO!
Back in reality, a body emerges from the now dead white serpent. The body seems to belong to a female. The camera zooms in to reveal the unknown figure to be Medusa. However, something is different about the witch. Her skin is now pale white, and her hair has now changed color from blonde to black. Purple markings appear on her face, and her eyes now resemble Orochimaru’s. “Medusa” opens her mouth, and a long tongue slithers out of it. She’s no longer Medusa Gorgon. The owner of that body is now Orochimaru.
Orochimaru: This will take some getting used to.
With nothing else left to say, the Sannin senses incoming people towards his location. Most likely the local authorities on their way to investigate the area. His fight with the witch did cause a lot of collateral damage and countless deaths. Grinning sadistically, Orochimaru readies himself to test out his new body against any new opponents he might come across.
Announcer: K.O!
Boomstick: That’s probably one of the most horrifying deaths we’ve seen on this show, Wiz.
Wiz: Medusa was unquestionably a worthy foe on the battlefield, and her Soul Magic definitely had the potential to take Orochimaru down. However, the Snake Sannin wouldn’t go down so easily.
Boomstick: We’re pretty sure Medusa was way smarter, but Orochimaru wasn’t stupid. He really just couldn’t be able to come up with plans like Medusa did as quickly. But even then, Medusa’s brains only had a real impact off the battlefield to pull the strings of everyone else. Not so useful in a one on one fight to the death.
Wiz: To add insult to injury, her intelligence wouldn’t have been able to predict that Orochimaru had way more versatility than anyone she has ever fought in her life.
Boomstick: But Wiz, what about Medusa’s soul snake thingies? Don’t they directly attack the soul, making Orochimaru’s durability useless?
Wiz: Yes and no. They DO have the potential to bypass normal defenses on occasion, but even if they did against Orochimaru, he survived way deadlier attacks that targeted the soul in his own universe, being the Reaper Death Seal Technique.
Boomstick: Madness would be a neat way to make Orochimaru insane and sloppy in battle, but that doesn’t work for two reasons. One, it’s more of Asura’s thing that Medusa took advantage of rather than something she can do on her own. And two, it’s pretty similar to Genjutsu, something we know Ninja Voldemort can resist.
Wiz: With all of that out of the way, let’s take a look at what really mattered: Their body snatching abilities.
Boomstick: That fight would pretty much end if either one got inside the other-
Wiz: Not like that, Boomstick we went over this!
Boomstick: I know, Wiz! Anyway, to know who’d be able to get the jump on the other one first, let’s take a look at their top speeds. We know Orochimaru can hold his own against several Kage and fellow Sannin, so he should be able to scale to the time the Five Kage tried to take on Madara during the Fourth Shinobi World War.
Wiz: Despite Madara effortlessly dodging their attacks, we can still see that the Kage are pretty quick, especially Ay, the Fourth Raikage. With this in mind, we were able to calculate their movements and attack speed, which was 199,310,000 miles per hour! 28 percent the speed of light!
Boomstick: That’s pretty quick. Let’s see if Medusa can beat that.
Wiz: Medusa has been shown to be comparable to the samurai Mifune, who was able to casually outspeed sniper bullets from this Death Weapon. While that doesn’t sound impressive, these particular sniper bullets can actually be shot to the moon.
Wiz: The moon is shown to be visible in Italy and over Death City, which is located in Nevada. With the distance between those locations being about 9,680 kilometers, we can measure the minimum altitude for the planet’s curvature to not block the shot to be about 1,629,000 meters. And since there’s still smoke in the barrel, we can estimate that this shot was made at 2 seconds top. Factoring all these measurements, we can conclude the speed of these sniper bullets to be at Mach 2394 or about 1,822,000 miles per hour!
Boomstick: Unfortunately for Medusa, that’s 109 times slower than Orochimaru’s top speed! Heck, it barely puts her over the lighting feat that the Sannin scales to.
Wiz: Even if the witch does get an opportunity to snatch Orochimaru’s body, she actually won’t be able to do so. Under normal circumstances, body snatching is an impossible ability for Medusa to perform. She was only able to transfer her soul thanks to Asura’s madness and insanity, and it was still something she considered reckless.
Boomstick: And remember, Sasuke admitted that he was only able to beat Orochimaru because of the weakened state he was in. Had Orochimaru been healthy, he would’ve given Sasuke a much harder time and probably would’ve been successful in taking the young Uchiha’s body. And Sasuke was capable of dishing out this much damage around that time!
Wiz: By measuring the length of the wall and comparing to the height and width of the Uchiha Hideout and later comparing to the wall to the radius of the scattered fragments after assuming the building to be 80% hollow, we can measure the destruction Sasuke caused using Kirin is exactly at 600 megatons of TNT.
Boomstick: This scaling is pretty consistent. Recall that crater we mentioned. That was when Orochimaru fought Four-Tails Naruto despite not being fully healthy.
Boomstick: Measuring the height and diameter of that crater using that Sasuke look alike for comparison, making it would require 61 megatons of TNT. Both feats are leagues above the crater feat made by that boat.
Wiz: Lastly, while Medusa uses magic based snakes in her attacks, Orochimaru incorporates actual venomous snakes in combat. One of them closely resembles the Mamushi, a species of venomous pit vipers normally found in Japan. A single bite from this snake can cause body tissues to liquify, leaving chunks of the human body missing as well as kidney failure, visual disturbances, and palsy.
Boomstick: I told you they’re dangerous! Someday, they’re going to be the death of us if we don’t do something about them.
Wiz: Overall despite having more experience and better intellect, Medusa just couldn’t get past Orochimaru’s superior strength, speed, durability, more reliable body snatching capabilities, and deadlier snakes.
Boomstick: He slithered his way to victory, allowing him to claim hiss win.
Wiz: The winner is Orochimaru.
